Gerli Liivet is a nurse and an APN by education (MSc). she has worked as a family nurse for 11 years, as a nurse educator for 5 years, and for the last 9 years she has been the Vice President and Head of International Relations of the Estonian Nurses Union. Her career has given her the opportunity to be closely involvedn with nursing development in Estonia. As part of a union, Ms Liivet helped initiate several changes to the legal framework, which have brought new rights to both nurses and APNs. Estonia is an e-country, so there is a lot of digital health information in the healthcare system. The owner of the data is the patient, but there are many technological solutions that facilitate the work of nurses, and they are continuously being added. All of this gives nurses the opportunity to provide consistent and patient-safe healthcare services. Ms Liivet has also been able to contribute to these developments over the years, and is happy to share her experiences so far with the visitors to the congress.
