Lukas Billiau is a Staff Member at the Strategic Policy Cell of Ghent University Hospital and a PhD candidate in Health Sciences. His research focuses on the evolving role of first-line head nurses in hospitals, analyzing how their responsibilities adapt to changing healthcare demands. Beyond his PhD, Lukas supports policymakers with studies on patient participation, clinical leadership, accreditation, and media representation of nurses. Actively engaged in international academic collaborations, he contributes to discussions on healthcare management and nursing leadership, fostering innovation and interdisciplinary cooperation.
