Franziska Geese is a PhD candidate at Maastricht University and a lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, where she leads the development of the new Master of Science in Nursing program. This program prepares future CNS and NP, addressing the growing need for advanced practice nursing roles in Switzerland. Her doctoral research, Advanced Practice Nursing Roles in Cancer Care in Switzerland: A Mixed-Methods Study, explores these challenges and contributes to a deeper understanding of sustainable role implementation in Swiss healthcare and oncology nursing. Beyond her academic and research activities, Franziska is actively involved in international nursing leadership. She serves as a Project Coordinator in the Core Steering Committee of the Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse Network of the International Council of Nurses (ICN), supporting global advanced practice nursing development.
