Carmen Schakel is a health and education systems advisor at Cordaid, an international development and emergency relief organisation. She has worked at Cordaid since 2017 and her expertise is in health system strengthening and health financing, with a focus on performance-based financing in low and middle-income countries. In 2023, she obtained her Master degree in Health Economics at the Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam. For her thesis, she studied the Cost-Effectiveness of a Performance-Based Financing program in Ethiopia.
