Elvis Wambiya is a trained epidemiologist, health economist, and decision modeller with interest in the application of decision modelling to inform the implementation of effective, scalable and sustainable interventions for health system strengthening in the prevention and management of chronic diseases in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). He holds a bachelors honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of Karachi, Pakistan; a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa; and is currently in his final year of PhD in health economics and decision science at the University of Sheffield, UK funded by Wellcome Trust. He has vast experience implementing and evaluating projects in infectious disease and non-communicable disease prevention, management, and health systems strengthening in LMICs.
