Roberta Sammut

Roberta Sammut is Associate Professor and former Head of the Department of Nursing and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Malta.
Her main research interests are nurse education and the nursing workforce and diabetes care. Prof. Sammut is a member of the DiasmokeFree Working Group within the Center of Excellence for the acceleration of Harm Reduction (CoeHar) of the University of Catania, which aims to develop clinical guidelines for smoking cessation in persons living with diabetes.
She is Associate Editor for the International Journal of Nursing Studies and a member of the scientific committee of the European Academy of Nursing Sciences.
Prof. Sammut is a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society. She is a member of the management board for ‘id-Dar tal-Providenza’, a Catholic organization for the care of persons living with disabilities.
