Professor Janelle Yorke, Chair Professor, Head School of Nursing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, is a Hong Kong Global STEM Scholar, the only nurse recipient. She is Endowed Angel S.P. Chan Lau Professor in Health and Longevity. Prior to relocating to Hong Kong in 2024, she was Professor of Cancer Nursing, University of Manchester and Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Executive Chief Nurse. She held a NIHR Senior Investigator award for her contribution to research and advancement of clinical-academic careers. Her work has led to the implementation of a large scale ePRO programme in the UK involving more than 5,000 oncology patients with over 50,000 ePRO responses; leading to identification of treatment toxicities, improved patient management and experience, and system efficiencies. Janelle’s STEM lab - Digital Oncology Care Enhancement (DOCE) investigates novel approaches to monitoring symptoms using ePROs and integration of digital interventions to support self-management.
