Jamie Murphy
Student Officer, Irish Nurse and Midwives Organisation
I am the Student and New Graduate Officer for the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), the officially recognised National Nursing Students' Association (NNSA) for Ireland. I represent nearly 5,000 student nurses and midwives nationwide and serve as the appointed national student representative at both national and international levels. A qualified general and children's nurse, I previously worked in paediatrics before moving into student advocacy. I am responsible for supporting the development and dissemination of the annual INMO Intern Survey, which gathers key insights into student experiences, including clinical placements, preceptorship, and wellbeing. I am currently working with my organisation to research the impact AI can have on nursing from a student perspective. I also support the INMO Student and Youth Forum to strengthen student leadership and representation.
